Lana Zonjic begins her first season as a graduate assistant with volleyball at Cumberland after finishing her playing career at George Mason University in Washington D.C.

The Zagreb, Croatia, native was voted Co-Rookie of the Year in the Colonial Athletic Association, registering 212 kills and 32 blocks in 26 matches. She earned Rookie of the Week honors three times during the 2010 season with five double-doubles and 12 matches with double-figure kills.

Zonjic garnered Third Team All-CAA accolades as a sophomore, collecting a team-high 304 kills with 210 digs and 39 blocks in 31 matches. She ranked eighth in the conference in kills and registered nine double-doubles, including the final seven outings of the year.

She earned Second Team All-Conference honors as a junior in 25 outings, leading the league and ranking second in kills with 338 while serving a conference-best 34 aces. She added 236 digs and 24 blocks with 10 double-doubles and 16 matches with double-figure kills. Zonjic recorded a career-high 24 kills to go with 19 digs versus James Madison that season.

Zonjic appeared in 19 matches as a senior, missing 10 outings because of injury, finishing the year with 206 kills along with 155 digs and 22 blocks. She ranked seventh in the Atlantic 10 in kills and registered five double-doubles. She was also nominated for GMU Female Athlete of the Year as a senior.

She won Junior and Cadet championships in Croatia four straight years from 2006-09, placed third in 2010 in the Croatian Senior Championship and was a member of the second-place Senior Croatian Cup in 2010 as well.

Zonjic played professionally for Liigaploki in Pihtipudas, Finland, for one season, earning Player of the Game honors four times.

She earned her bachelor’s in Finance with a minor in Economics from George Mason in May 2014 and is currently enrolled in the master’s program for Business Administration at Cumberland.
