Battle of the Bulldogs goes to Union

The Cumberland University Lady Bulldogs, ranked No. 23, and the Union University Lady Bulldogs, ranked No. 1, got into a high-scoring shootout as Union led 60-48 at the half, in which they connected on 7-of-12 three-point attempts in the first half. Union ran their record to 16-0 as they went on to a 100-83 victory. Keshia Brown led the way with a career high 21 points, including 19 in the first half. Renae Williams chipped in 20 points and pulled down 10 rebounds. Ashley Matthews scored 13 points, including 3-of-6 from the three-point line. Cumberland falls to 9-7 (1-3) on the season and will next be in action on Thursday, January 15 as they take on Mid-Continent University at 6 p.m. in the Dallas Floyd Gymnasium.
