CU sweeps two

The No. 15-ranked Lady Bulldogs got two more victories at the Bob Williams Classic in Rome, Ga. In the first game, the Lady Bulldogs stormed past Milligan College by a score of 81-56. Renae Williams led the way with 26 points and 12 rebounds. Ashley Matthews chipped in a career high 22 points, and Kari Maddox totaled 13 points. CU led by only three at the half but managed to put away Milligan in the second half by outscoring them 42-20. In the second game, CU dismantled Johnson & Wales by a score of 98-55. Renae Williams pulled down another double-double effort by scoring 31 points and pulling down a career high 18 rebounds. Kristin Kirkland (12), Keela Henry (11) and Alison West (10) were the three other Lady Bulldogs in double figures. Cumberland improves to 4-0 on the season and will next be in action on Tuesday, Nov. 20 when they travel to Cape Girardeau, Mo. to take on SEMO, the defending OVC Champions. Game time is set for 5 p.m., and this will be an exhibition game for the Lady Bulldogs.
