Gonzalez leads victory at Hiwassee

LEBANON, Tenn. – Tamara Gonzalez scored 15 points, all in the first half, and Keshia Brown added 14 points, as Cumberland jumped out to a big halftime lead and never looked back in a 72-43 victory Wednesday over Hiwassee College in Madisonville, Tenn.

Gonzalez hit a trio of 3-pointers and was 4-for-4 at the foul line, as the Bulldogs (4-2) built a 43-18 advantage at intermission. The sophomore added six rebounds, four assists and two steals in the victory.

Brown made 6-of-10 field goals in the contest, while Brittany Cash also had three trifectas for 11 points. Allysia Bailey added five steals and Angie Wells passed out five assists, as the two point guards combined for 15 points, seven assists and eight steals.

Cumberland hosts the Rosa Stokes Classic December 11-12 at the Dallas Floyd Recreation Center. The women play Fisk University Saturday at 2 p.m.
