Four players score in double figures in 76-47 victory

LEBANON, Tenn. – Simone Ryan posted 17 points and 11 rebounds and Ashley Whitmore, Brittany Cash and Tamara Gonzalez all scored in double figures, as Cumberland shot 55 percent from the field in a 76-47 victory over Fisk Univ. in women’s basketball action Monday night in Nashville, Tenn.

The Bulldogs (3-1) took a 32-17 advantage at halftime after shooting 59 percent and limiting Fisk to just four field goals in the period.

Ryan registered her second double-double of the season in the victory, hitting 5-of-10 shots from the field and all six free throws. Whitmore came off the bench to score 17 points as well, going 7-of-9 from the floor.

Gonzalez and Cash both hit a pair of 3-pointers and netted 16 and 15 points, respectively. Whimore pulled down seven rebounds and Gonzalez added six.

Cumberland travels to St. Catharine College Friday for a 5 p.m. CT tipoff against the Patriots.
