
C'Kala Humes begins her second season as a graduate assistant at Cumberland after a remarkable playing career for the Bulldogs that included three trips to the NAIA National Tournament.
The Spring Hill, Tenn., native played four seasons for the Bulldogs for coach Clint Mason, earning TranSouth All-Freshman Team accolades in 2004 and First Team All-TranSouth honors in 2006.
The Bulldogs made three NAIA National Tournament appearances during her career, making the Round of 16 in 2005, the Round of 32 in 2006 and the championship game in 2007. She was an NAIA National Scholar-Athlete her final two seasons at CU.
Humes graduated from Spring Hill High School in 2003, garnering All-Region honors as a sophomore, junior and senior and earning District MVP accolades as a sophomore and junior. She was voted the District MVP as a junior as well and the team MVP during her final three seasons.
After graduating from Cumberland in 2007 with a bachelor's in Physical Education and Health with a minor in Psychology, Humes managed a pair of Curves workout facilities in Mt. Juliet, Tenn., for two years. She also served as the girls basketball coach at Tucker Crossroads Elementary in Lebanon in 2009.
