FAIRFIELD, Ohio - Cumberland Women’s Bowling finished in ninth place at the MSC Women's Bowling Cincinnati Classic Sunday at Northwest Lanes.
The tournament consisted of nine team games with five being bowled on Saturday and the final four being bowled today.
Gracie Connelly had the highest finish for Cumberland taking 15th place individually with 1,721 total pins. She averaged 191.22 through nine games with a high of 240 in her eighth game. Alyssa Campbell finished in 67th with 1,307 pins and Carlie Semrau finished in 86 with 1,057 pins.
SCAD Savannah (Ga.) who tallied 9,072 pins to win the tournament. Pikeville totaled 8,729 to finish behind the tournament winner. Cumberlands (Ky.) finished third with 8,716 pins, Tennessee Southern and Union (Ky.) round out the top five with 8,564 and 8,408 pins, respectively.
Midway (Ky.) was sixth with 8,329 pins while Milligan tallied 8,276 pins to finish seventh. Campbellsville (Ky.) was eighth with 7,980 pins, Cumberland (Tenn.) and Shawnee State (Ohio) round out the top 10 with 7,956 and 7,921 pins, respectively.
Bethel (Tenn.) finished 11th with 7,891 pins while Tennessee Wesleyan was 12th with 7,567 pins. Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) and Thomas More (Ky.) round out the MSC teams in the standings with 7,316 and 7,208 pins, respectively.
SCAD's Lara Kurt won the individual title with 1,956 pins edging out Tennessee Southern's Lindsay Brown by two pins. Pikeville's Kristina Catoe finished third with 1,927 pins while teammate Brianna Rogers totaled 1,900 pins to finish fourth. Milligan's (Tenn.) Emily Cheesman rounds out the top five with 1.836 pins.
Cumberland’s women are tied for sixth place in the Mid-South Conference standings after this tournament.
The Phoenix will be back on the lanes on November 5-6 at the Bowlero Southern Collegiate Classic in Austell, Georgia.
