SMYRNA, Tenn. – Cumberland women’s bowling competed in the MSC Brandon Burns Memorial this past weekend for their third MSC tournament of the year, finishing 6th out of 16 teams.
Tennessee Southern captured the Tournament title.
The tournament consisted of six team games that were bowled on Saturday and 16 baker games on Sunday.The Firehawks won the team title after totaling 9,045 pins. Non-conference Milligan finished runner-up with 8,613 pins while Pikeville tallied 8,461 pins to place third. Union (Ky.) was fourth with 8,370 pins while Cumberlands (Ky.) placed fifth with 8,281 pins.
Milligan's Emily Cheesman won the individual title with 1,204 pins beating out Union's Taylor Booth by three pins. Tennessee Southern's Katie Paris finished third with 1,200 pins while Milligan's Laci Macquisten finished fourth. Tennessee Southern Hannah Carbocci rounds out the top five with 1,189 pins.
Cumberland finished sixth with 8,245 pins, Midway (Ky.) tallied 8,172 pins to finish seventh and Campbellsville (Ky.) was eighth with 7,981 pins. Bethel (Tenn.) was ninth with 7,874 pins and Emmanuel (Ga.) was 10th with 7,859 pins.
Kelci Young was the highest finishing Phoenix claiming 12th place with 1,143 pins over six games. Alyssa Campbell checked in at 49th and Eli Coleman was 81st for the Top 3 Cumberland finishers.
The rest of the MSC teams in the standings were Tennessee Wesleyan in 12th, Shawnee State (Ohio) in 13th, Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) in 15th and Thomas More (Ky.) in 16th.
