Women's Bowling goes 2-2 at MSC Championships

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.-- Cumberland Women's Bowling went 2-2 in the baker bracket of the Mid-South Conference Championship to conclude their title hopes. 

The Phoenix made their trip difficult losing their first-round match up against No. 10 Tennessee Wesleyan 4-1 (189-169, 157-166, 183-165, 203-168, 186-141). With the first round loss Cumberland woul have to battle through the loser's bracket. 

Cumberland bounced back strong in the first match with a 4-1 win over No. 12 seed Thomas More (151-210, 212-152, 170-124, 173-160, 185-184) and answered the bell again with a 4-0 sweep against 11-seed Lindsey Wilson (174-141,-176-166, 191-171, 166-152) in the fourth round.

Cumberland had their tournament come to an end in the fifth round against No. 6 Union. CU lost 4-1, but played each game very tight (199-147, 146-226, 200-193, 219-214, 200-157).

Cumberland still has one more tournament on the schedule as CU will take on the Hoosier Classic later this month.
