Petrova Leads Womens XC at 'Live in Lou' Cross Country Classic

LOUISVILLE, Ky.--The Cumberland women's cross country ran against some tough runners at the 'Live in Lou' Louisville Cross Country Classic. The Phoenix finished in 16th place out of 16 teams overall.

The Phoenix were led by junior Sasha  Petrova who took 64th place in a time of 19:41.4. That is Petrova's second-best time running for CU and 17th best time in program history. The next Phoenix runner to cross the line was Elise Krone in 107th place with a time of 20:52.6. Freshman Sarah Sneed came in 121st place finishing in 21:39.6 and senior Hannah Spring finished in 122nd with a time of 21:41.8.

Phoenix newcomer India Mastin finished 127th at 21:48.8. She was followed by fellow freshman Milena Stippinger who finished 152nd with a time of 23:56.1

The Phoenix will be back on the course on October 17 at the Drakes Creek Scramble at Phil Moore Park in Bowling Green, Ky.
