
LEBANON, Tenn.--Cumberland women's golf shot a 328 in the first round at the Golden Tigers Spring Invitational to sit solely in second place.
Cumberland trails Dalton State by 10-strokes while leading third place, the host Brenau University, by 12 strokes. Truett-McConnell sits in fourth place after a 343 and Reinhardt rounds out the Top-5 after a 360.
Senior Raquel Romero Valverde sits at the top of the leaderboard in second place individually. She shot a four-over-par 76, and trails the leader Hanna Bullard by three shots.
Freshman Emma Hermansson joins Romero Valverde in the Top-10. Hermansson shot a 10-over 82 and is in a tie for eighth place. Sophomore Pilar Scenna and freshman Nathalie Nutu are tied for 14th place after a couple of 13-over rounds and Ida Furuheim is in a tie for 27th place after a 17-over.
Conditions at the Chattahoochee Golf Club in Gainesville, Georgia were windy and cold on the day.
Round two will be played tomorrow starting at 8:00 a.m.
