
OKATIE, S.C.--Cumberland women's golf shot a 321 in the first round at the Oldfield Intercollegiate to sit tied for third place.
Cumberland trails first-place Dalton State by 22 strokes and second place SCAD-Savannah by 17 strokes after day one of the tournament. The Phoenix are currently tied for third with Coastal Georgia and lead the tournament host South Carolina-Beaufort by six strokes.
Sophomore Pilar Scenna is currently tied for seventh place individually in the tournament. She shot a five-over-par 77 and trails the leader Paula Sofia Suarez by five shots.
Raquel Romero Valerde is tied for 18th place after shooting 80 in the first round. Nathalie Nutu and Emma Hermansson are tied with five golfers for 24th after shooting 82. Ida Furuheim rounds out the Cumberland Women with a 93 in the first round
Round two will be played tomorrow starting at 8:00 a.m. ET.
