GEORGETOWN, Ky.—Emma Hermansson is tied for second place and Jasmine Sachsen and Anna Krieger are tied for sixth after day one action at the Georgetown College Women’s Invitational.
Cumberland women’s golf currently sits in second place after posting a 310 in the first round at Cherry Blossom Golf Course. The Phoenix are six shots behind Campbellsville heading into round two.
Hermansson played very well shooting three-over-par. She posted two bogeys on the front and a birdie on No. 7 with two bogeys on the back for the 75. She is one shot behind the leader, Gracie Parrott from Campbellsville.
Krieger posted a 78 in the first round to sit in a tie for sixth. She notched three bogeys and a birdie on the front-nine and two bogeys and a double on the back for the six-over.
Sachdev is tied with Krieger in sixth-place. She struggled through the first six-holes carding three double bogeys, but played very well from No. 7 on. She birdied No. 8, No. 12, and No. 14, a par three, four, and five to help her shoot six-over.
Nathalie Nutu was the last score for the Phoenix with a 79. She shot a four-over on the front and three-over on the back nine. She is tied for eight place.
Pilar Scenna and Ida Furuheim each shot an 81 and are tied for 16th position.
The Phoenix will finish the tournament with 18 more holes at Cherry Blossom. The team will be in the final pairing with Campbellsville and Midway.
