NEW ORLEANS, La.--After two rounds of play on day one, Cumberland sits in third place with 635 strokes at the Wolf Pack Invitational at English Turn Golf & Country Club.
William Carey University sits in first place with 597 shots, 19 strokes ahead of Loyola in second at 616. Faulkner University is just behind Cumberland in fourth place, 20 strokes behind the Phoenix.
Despite a challenging start in the first round, Cumberland improved their play in the second round to a 310, 15 strokes better than their first round score.
Anna Krieger led the team with a total of 153 over the two rounds, sitting in seventh place individually. Krieger posted a 78 in the first round and followed that with an even better second round score of 75, which helped her climb the leaderboard.
Emma Hermansson sits just outside the Top 10 in a tie for 11th place at 158. Hermansson had a tough start in the first round, shooting an 83, but bounced back in the second round with a score of 75, tied for the team's best score in the second round.
Jasmine Sachdev is in 15th place at 161 strokes. Sachdev's consistent play over both rounds, shooting 83 and 78, respectively.
Nathalie Nutu is tied for 16th place with a total of 163. Nutu shot an 81 in the first round and followed it up with an 82 in the second round.
Caitlyn Bilham rounded out the team's performance, tied for 29th place at 173. Bilham shot an 85 in round one and an 88 in round two.
Catherine Singletary from Loyola is in first place individually after shooting an even-par 72 and a 75.
The Phoenix will finish out round three tomorrow in New Orleans.
