Coaching Staff beefing up for 2005-2006 season

Head Wrestling Coach Jarad Swint has beefed up his coaching staff to six coaches for the 2005-2006 season. Swint's graduate assistant coaches John Young and Matt Grindstaff. They will be staying on as Volunteer Assistant Coach and Head Strength and Conditioning Coach respectively. Young will work with the 133-149 weight classes and Grindstaff will work with the 165-184 weight classes daily.

Tommy Prairie will be a graduate assistant coach/tournament director. Prairie is originally from NJ where he wrestled at Blair Academy . He will work with the 125-141 weight classes daily. He was a 3 time All-American at Williams College placing 3 rd ,4 th , and 2 nd at 125.

Tommy Prairie Graduated from Williams College earning a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. He is currently pursuing a Masters in Business Administration here at Cumberland .

Dave Glaser will be a graduate assistant/public relations coach. Glaser is originally from Dayton , OH where he wrestled at Kettering Fairmont high school. He will work with the 133-149 weight classes daily. He was a 2005 national qualifier at 141 and was team captain his senior year. Glaser beat a two time All-American in the first round at nationals in 2005.

Dave Glaser is a 2005 graduate of Cumberland University earning a Bachelor of Science in Humanities and Social Science.  He is currently pursuing a Masters of Science Public Service Management here at Cumberland .

Jared Grindstaff will be a graduate assistant/ assistant strength and conditioning coach. Grindstaff is originally from LaVista Nebraska where he wrestled at Papillion LaVista High School .  He will be working with the 149-165 weight classes daily. Grindstaff started his college-wrestling career at Dakota Wesleyan University and after his freshman year decided to transfer to Cumberland .  During his college career, Jared was a 2x National Qualifier, 2x Daktroncis NAIA Scholar Athlete and voted team Captain his senior season.           

Jared Grindstaff graduated from Cumberland University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics.  Currently he is pursuing a Masters of Arts in Education here at Cumberland . 

Head Wrestling Coach Jarad Swint wrestles with the 174-HWT weight classes daily.  Swint is waiting to find out if his request for a full time assistant coach is going to happen for sure. Swint said "the numbers we brought in should justify an assistant coach. Hopefully we will here of the hiring date soon."
