Cumberland University Wrestling releases recruiting class

As of August 16, 28 new recruits have been signed for Cumberland University wrestling. This is Head Coach Jarad Swint's biggest recruiting class ever. The class of 28 follows Swint's first class of 15 from last year. Swint said, "This is my biggest recruiting class ever as a recruiter here or as an assistant at Findlay, Ohio. Our coaching staff worked very hard to get them all in here." Last year's recruiting class produced a national champion Keith Cupp, All-American Casey Brewster and national qualifiers Kyle Burkett and Luke Graves.

"Now the coaching staff needs to get these recruits to study hard, buy into the training, keep them healthy, and technically take them to the next level. Training them and technique is the fun part; keeping them healthy is always a challenge. Getting these numbers means a lot to me."

Swint and his staff are still working on some last minute recruiting with wrestlers that are late in the decision-making process. "These numbers should justify hiring a full-time assistant coach and that was a big goal of mine for the summer. Now all I have to do is get them all official with the school and get a date to break ground on a wrestling facility and my summer wrestling goals will be achieved."
