Chattanooga, TN -- The Cumberland University wrestling team faced the 19th- and eighth-ranked NCAA I teams in the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga and the Ohio State University this weekend. The Bulldogs only won four matches. UTC defeated Cumberland 42-3, and OSU defeated the Bulldogs 39-16.

CU Head Coach Jarad Swint said, "We gained valuable experience facing this caliber of teams. It gives us an opportunity to see where we stack up against some of the best in the nation. I think once we get everyone in the right weight class we will be looking pretty good. Five of the 10 weight classes we wrestled were guys that wrestle or will most likely wrestle in a lower weight class."

In the Ohio State match, the Bulldogs were only down 16-17 with four weight classes remaining in the match. Swint said, "We wrestled well against Ohio State considering we bumped so many guys up in weight classes. These were two great teams that really humbled us today."
