Grapplers win at Lindsey, 33-9

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland posted victories in eight of 10 matches, including major decisions by Anthony Melillo and BJ Stewart and one victory by Fall from James Casadaban, as the 14th-ranked Bulldogs defeated Lindsey Wilson, 33-9, Tuesday night in Columbia, Ky.
Melillo defeated Aaron Wilson, 22-3, at 141 pounds and Stewart won 23-8 over Teddy Furnish in the heavyweight class. Casadaban added his ninth win of the year by Fall at 1:57 against Craig West at 157 pounds.
The Bulldogs (1-1) posted impressive victories in two other matches, with Andrew Blackwell defeating Ryan Shank, 15-5, at 165 pounds and Matt Scheve posting a 17-9 triumph at 133 pounds over Brian Thompson.
Andy Shoultz came away with an 8-5 victory for CU at 149 pounds against Jacob Shirley, Nick Sasfy won 7-5 at 174 pounds over Steven Rink, and Eric Metzler defeated Jacob Ilg, 7-3, at 197 pounds.
The Blue Raiders gained their nine points in two matches, with Keith Klink defeating freshman Noah hunt, 8-3, at 125 pounds, while LWU picked up a forfeit at 184 pounds.
Cumberland heads to the Missouri Open this Sunday and hosts ninth-ranked Campbellsville Univ. Wednesday, November 25 at Noon at the Dallas Floyd Recreation Center.
