CU Women's Soccer Inks Two

The Cumberland University women's soccer team is proud to announce the signing of two players for 2008-09, Wilson Central High School midfielder Paige Moorhead and Tullahoma High School forward Rachel Scoggins.

Moorhead, a 5'7" senior standout at Wilson Central in Lebanon, will likely start out in the defense and may eventually move back to midfield as she gains experience, according to Bulldog head coach Jeff Loucks.

"Paige's lack of high-level experience puts her somewhat behind some of her teammates, but she is an excellent athlete, and we expect her to be a fine player in the very near future," Loucks said. "She has good size and strength and should adapt quickly to this level of play."

Scoggins, a 5'5" forward from Tullahoma, comes to CU from former Bulldog soccer player and Tullahoma Coach Richie Chadwick's District Champion squad. Rachel led the Wildcats to what has become their annual place atop their district.

"Rachel is a true goal scorer," said Loucks. "She has quickness and a nose for the ball. When she gets an opportunity in front of the net, she usually converts."
