LEBANON, Tenn. – Helena Dimantas Farias scored late in the first half to tie the match, but Bethel’s Maryse Beauregard posted three goals in an 8-1 victory over Cumberland in women’s soccer action Friday at Friendship Christian School.

Cumberland (3-8-2, 1-4-1 TSAC) finished the home schedule 2-3-0, splitting a pair of matches over the last two days. Bethel (4-4-5, 3-1-2) scored seven second-half goals to break a tie score at halftime for the victory.

The Wildcats controlled play for almost the entire half, taking 17 shots to just five in the period. Beauregard put the Wildcats ahead in the 10th minute with a shot from 12 yards after a scramble in the box.

Beauregard hit the crossbar for Bethel in the 23rd minute and Victoriah Musyoski’s header off a free kick just seconds later hit the right post. Bethel hit the post twice more in the half.

But the Bulldogs tied the score in the 38th minute. Dimantas Farias made a long run after a cleared ball and chipped in a goal over Bethel keeper Jackie Parker for her 11th score of the season and second in two matches.

Cumberland played more on its offensive side of the field in the first 15 minutes of the second half, but Beauregard put the Wildcats ahead for good in the 62nd minute, drilling a shot past CU keeper Cierra Boots after a through ball from Tori Barraco.

Beauregard got her third score of the match just five minutes later on an assist from Musyoski for a 3-1 Bethel advantage. Musyoski headed in a corner kick from Rachel Rathbone just two minutes later for another goal for the Wildcats.

Barraco hit a beautiful half-volley off a cross from Kelly-Jade Whalen in the 73rd minute, and Marika Fukuta scored two minutes later on an assist from Morgan Kietel. Rathbone netted a goal in the 85th minute on an assist from Bianca Schreiber, and Whalen scored the final tally for the Wildcats in the 88th minute after a scramble at the top of the box.
