Bulldogs play to 1-1 draw

LEBANON, Tenn. – Helena Dimantas Farias tied the match with a goal in the second half and Cierra Boots made 13 saves in Cumberland’s 1-1 draw against Campbellsville Univ. Tuesday in women’s soccer action in Campbellsville, Ky.
 
Boots posted 13 saves in the match, four in the first half and nine in the second half. Cumberland (2-3-1) pushed its unbeaten streak to two matches.
 
Campbellsville’s Laura Swencki put the Tigers ahead with a goal in the 42nd minute, but
Dimantas Farias netted her ninth goal of the year in the 50th minute to tie the match at one.
 
Campbellsville (3-2-1) took 25 shots in the match compared to 18 for CU, while the Tigers also had 10 corner kicks compared to just four for the Bulldogs.
 
Campbellsville keeper Sarah Akers registered 14 saves in the match, eight in the first half and six more in the second period.
 
Cumberland’s match this weekend against Virginia Intermont has been canceled. The women’s team opens TranSouth Conference action next Tuesday at 2 p.m. at home against Bethel Univ.
