LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland women’s soccer players Helena Dimantas Farias and Reneé LaRose were both voted First Team All-TranSouth while LaRose was named Co-Freshman of the Year, as announced by the conference office. Morgan Shaffer and Michelle Ward also earned Second Team All-TSAC honors for the Bulldogs, who tied for third in the league standings.

Dimantas Farias led the TranSouth in points (39) and assists (13) and finished the year second in the league in goals (13). She posted five goals and five assists against conference opponents, including a hat trick against rival Trevecca Nazarene and a pair of assists in a victory over Freed-Hardeman in the quarterfinals of the TranSouth Championships. Dimantas Farias was a Second Team All-TSAC selection as a freshman.

Shaffer tied for third in the conference with nine goals and added a pair of assists for 20 points. She scored the only goal in CU’s 2-1 overtime loss to Lyon College in the regular season and added two goals in the victory over Trevecca.

LaRose and Ward anchored the Bulldog defense that allowed just 10 goals over the final 12 matches of the year, all the while with a position player in goal for CU in 11 of those outings. The third place finish was the highest for Cumberland since 2005 and the second best showing by the squad since joining the TranSouth. Larose also scored one goal during the season, against Freed-Hardeman in the conference tournament, while Ward handed out one assist.
