CU offering summer camps in seven sports

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland University’s award-winning coaching staff and student-athletes will be hosting camps and clinics in seven different sports throughout the summer.


Bulldogs fall in NAIA semifinals

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Martin Methodist won six of the final seven games to post a victory at No. 1 doubles and then posted three straight-set wins in singles, as the 18th-ranked RedHawks defeated Cumberland, 5-2, Saturday in the semifinals of the Women’s NAIA Qualifying Tournament.


Women's tennis wins, 5-2, at NAIA Qualifier

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Cumberland dropped a pair of doubles matches but roared back with four straight-set singles wins, posting a 5-2 victory over Tennessee Wesleyan in the quarterfinals of the women’s NAIA Qualifying Tournament here Friday.


Akari Miura-Schaub voted All-TranSouth in doubles

Six Bulldogs named TranSouth Scholar-Athletes

LEBANON, Tenn. – Six Cumberland tennis players were recognized as TranSouth Conference Scholar-Athletes by the league office this week, including four men and two women. The Bulldog tennis teams will participate in the 2011 NAIA Qualifying Tournament this weekend in Chattanooga, Tenn.


Women's tennis falls to WKU

LEBANON, Tenn. – Larissa Akari Miura and Courtney Schaub won a hard-fought doubles matches but Schaub lost in three sets in singles and Cumberland dropped another singles match in a tiebreaker, falling to Western Kentucky, 7-0, in women’s tennis action late Monday at the Tommy Gray Memorial Tennis Courts on the CU campus.


Friday tennis matches canceled

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland’s tennis matches scheduled for Friday against Union College in Barbourville, Ky., have been canceled because of forecasted inclement weather in the area. The matches will not be made-up.


Bulldogs take care of Bethel, 9-0

Schaub named POW

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland’s Courtney Schaub was named the TranSouth Women’s Tennis Player of the Week on Tuesday after winning both of her singles and doubles matches last week for the Bulldogs.

Tennis holding fundraising clinic

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland University’s tennis program will hold a clinic this Saturday, April 16, from 9-11 a.m. at the Tommy Gray Memorial Tennis Courts on the CU campus. Cost for the clinic is $20 and all proceeds benefit the tennis program.

LEBANON, Tenn. – Amber Johnson and Lindsey Gaither won their doubles match, but 16th-ranked Lindsey Wilson posted five total victories to claim a 5-1 victory over Cumberland in women’s tennis action Friday in Columbia, Ky. The match was stopped due to rain and will not be completed.

Spring tennis clinic dates set

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland University tennis coach Bill McCormick will conduct clinics this spring every Tuesday from April 12-May 17 at the CU tennis courts on campus.
