
LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland’s Angelica Sepulveda was named the Mid-South Conference Women’s Tennis Player of the Week for the third time in four weeks on Tuesday after posting six victories during the Mid-South Conference Championships.
The freshman from Bucaramanga, Colombia, defeated Shawnee State's Kyra Keeton, Campbellsville University's 44th-ranked Anna Tumanyan and Lindsey Wilson's 30th-ranked Slavika Milanovic, all in straight sets in singles. Sepulveda and doubles partner Antea Dedić registered victories over SSU's Keeton and Kayla Wiley, Campbellsville's 18th-ranked Tumanyan and Haley Dallas and LWC's Sarah Bernos and Anna Gaprindashvili.
Sepulveda upped her record this season to 16-6 in singles, 14-5 in dual matches, and 17-5 in doubles, 15-4 in dual matches. The Bulldogs lost to sixth-ranked Lindsey Wilson in the finals of the conference tournament and stand 14-6 this season with five NAIA losses, all to teams ranked in the Top 6 nationally.
