OWENSBORO, Tenn.-- Cumberland women's tennis tops Georgetown 4-1 to advance to the Mid-South Conference Semifinals at Moreland Park.
Cumberland entered the Mid-South Quarterfinals as the five-seed and faced fourth-seed Georgetown.
Cumberland took two doubles matches to take the doubles point for the first point of the match. Joana Bou and Ksenija Dmitrovic defeated Emma Hill and Noel Beilski 6-4 in duos team number two. Marcela Cordeiro and Ana Maria Collazas swept Sam Spady and Bailey Thompson 6-0 at No. 3.
Ainhoa Garrido Garijo picked up a big win at No. 1 over 38-ranked Maci Ferguson 6-1, 6-0. Jessica Hernandez made quick work of Sam Spady at No. 2 in two sets and Marcela Cordeiro defeated Noel Beilski at No. 5 to clinch the match.
The Phoenix advance to the semifinals tomorrow against the top-ranked University of the Cumberlands at 10:00 a.m.
