LEBANON, Tenn.-- Cumberland senior Jessica Hernandez earned 2023 NAIA Women's Tennis All-America Honorable Mention honors for the second consecutive year as announced Tuesday by the national office and selected by the NAIA All-America committee.
Hernandez earns a spot on the NAIA All-America team for the second time in her career. She has been a First Team All-Conference member for four straight seasons. The senior was named an ITA doubles All-American with Ainhoa Garijo Garrido in 2018-19.
This season, she finished with a 13-8 overall record in singles playing as the No. 1. She went 12-6 in doubles this year, splitting time with two partners in Maria Arbelaez, and Kaede Hatano.
The Bogota, Colombia native was one of four Mid-South Conference women's tennis players named to the All-America team. Meiri Okuwaki from the University of the Cumberlands was named a First Team selection while her teammate Laura Prieto garnered Second Team honors. Reshma Challarapu from Lindsey Wilson earned Second Team honors as well.
