LEBANON, Tenn.--Cumberland Women's Tennis drops a tight battle to Blue Mountain College 4-2 at home Friday evening. 

Blue Mountain started the match with a sweep at doubles to get the point, but every match was hard-fought. Jessica Hernandez and Elina Sungatullina fell at No. 1 6-4 and then at No. 3 doubles Juanita Mendez and Kaede Hatano lost 7-5 to give the Toppers the point. The No. 2 team for BMC also defeated Maria Arbelaez and Valentina Mendez 6-4. 

In singles action, Hernadez and Sungatullina were able to come up with wins at No. 1 and No. 3. Hernandez won by a score of 6-3, 6-1 and Sungatullina posted a 6-2, 7-5 victory, but that would be all that Cumberland would scrape across.

Arbelaez lost at No. 2 singles 6-4, 6-3. Juanita Mendez was shut out at No. 4 6-0, 6-0 and Lara Zugasti lost at No. 6. 

Cumberland is set to be back in action at the GGC Invite starting next Thursday against Reinhardt.
