Barnett finishes 24th at NAIA Championships

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland sophomore Kalea Barnett finished 24th in the shot put at the 38th Annual NAIA Women’s Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday in Pittsburg, Kan.

The Murfreesboro, Tenn., native posted a mark of 12.18 meters (39-feet, 9.75 inches) in the event. It marked the second straight trip to the indoor national championships for Barnett in Cumberland’s second year with a track and field program. She finished 28th with a mark of 38-1.75 as a freshman.

Cumberland begins the outdoor season March 16-17 at the Rhodes College Invitational in Memphis, Tenn.
